That Little Place brings a fresh and different modern dining experience to Harpenden. This independent restaurant at the very heart of the Village is brought to you by a small team which is Chef-led by Alec with support from co-owner John and a small team with deep local roots and an appreciation of the area. Only the freshest dishes prepared exclusively on the premises and cooked to order are served. The Local Specialties section of the menu shows exactly where the food comes from. That Little Place is an enthusiastic supporter of Harpenden Farmers Market and sources as much food and drink as possible from local producers. Many herbs, fruit and vegetables are grown by us. That Little Place is privileged to have the very rare expertise of a Chef and Brewer all in one in Alec Goodhand. This means that That Little Place is unusual in producing its own unique beers Harpenden Gold and ALE 5, exclusive to us from our own micro brewery and reviving Harpendens brewing tradition for the first time in some three quarters of a century. The wine and drinks list have all been carefully selected and many of the small boutique wine producers are even known to us personally. Our passion is for authentic classic dishes, especially the best of British, plus some completely original signatures and Specials offering something different. As everyone knows, it is often the little things that make the real difference and we work hard to put this into everything we do. The surroundings have been specially designed to be comfortable and individual and to enhance this part of the Conservation Area. The large mirror was commissioned to bring a sense of space and reflect the art deco lighting. Art is by the late Alan Norris who was head of art at Oaklands College and the paintings all depict local scenes.
